Education at Pavilniai Neighbors' Day
We joined the European Night of Museums initiative and on May 19th presented the "Lost Shtetl" museum in the Bibliobus of the Vilnius City Municipality Central Library.
At the Pavilniai Neighbors' Day celebration, we invited participants to test their knowledge by identifying objects related to Judaism, braiding a festive challah, playing the Jewish dreidel game, and writing their names in Hebrew.
Visitors learned what Jewish and Lithuanian communities, who lived nearby, borrowed and adapted from each other in a neighborly way. While the adults were curiously engaged, the younger participants were building houses and creating a shtetl.
