How to Enjoy a Snowy Day

"The trees creak and moan/Rattling in the wind," that's what the young poets wrote in the children's magazine Žvaigždutė [Little Star] in 1928. They talked about winter -- super cold, windy, dark, and unpleasant season.

Even so, winter brought much joy and special entertainment for children. For Šeduva resident Yvette Bardon, it was a time to spend with the family doing fun things outside. From her very first days on earth, she owned a sled. She sat on it dressed up in warm clothing and waited for her parents to pull her all over Šeduva. When she was a bit older she loved to play in the snow with her cousin Hinda. Neither the cold nor the darkness seemed so bad after discovering such fun ways to spend time.
